Kizazi Kijacho, meaning “Next Generation”, is an ongoing, collaborative early childhood development research programme in Tanzania. It is designed to better understand the process of early childhood development in Tanzania and to support caregiving practices. As part of the research for children from in-pregnancy until age 2, KK aims to strengthen home counselling delivered by community health workers (CHWs) and improve household economic security through an unconditional cash transfer (UCT). The randomised controlled trial component of KK compares three approaches: CHW counselling, the UCT, and a combined model of counselling and cash support.
