The newly elected Board of the Tanzania ECD Network convened for their inaugural meeting on October 30, 2024, following the network-wide elections held on July 25, 2024. This session marked a pivotal step in setting strategic directives for the Network's initiatives, aimed at advancing early childhood development across Tanzania through strengthened governance and advocacy.
During this foundational meeting, the Board appointed Madame Elizabeth Thobias, Executive Director of WeCare Foundation, as the Board Chair. Her leadership, backed by extensive expertise in ECD and commitment to child welfare, will be instrumental in driving the Network's mission forward. Advocate Onesmo Olengurumwa, CEO of the Tanzania Human Rights Defenders Coalition, was elected Vice Board Chair. His background in human rights and advocacy will complement the Network’s approach to creating inclusive, child-centered policies.
The Tanzania ECD Network Board comprises a diverse and skilled group of professionals committed to enhancing early childhood services nationwide. Each Board member brings specific expertise in governance, program implementation, and advocacy, poised to collectively foster impactful changes within Tanzania’s early childhood development landscape.
