Dodoma, Tanzania – July 24, 2024 – The Tanzania Early Childhood Development Network (TECDEN) has proudly launched its ambitious 5-Year Strategic Plan for 2024-2028. This new plan marks a significant milestone for TECDEN, following 5 years of organizational transition and growth.
The overall goal of the plan is to strengthen coordination and capacity of Early Childhood Development (ECD) actors in promoting the ECD agenda across Tanzania. The strategic plan outlines three specific objectives:
Data-Driven Advocacy: TECDEN aims to leverage data to influence policies, laws, and frameworks to enhance the delivery of ECD services to young children aged 0-8 years.
Capacity Building: The plan focuses on fortifying the abilities of its members and other ECD stakeholders to promote and invest in early childhood development.
Institutional Strengthening: Enhancing institutional capacity to forge partnerships and linkages is a key priority, ensuring sustainable and quality ECD service delivery at all levels.
The strategic plan was unveiled by Honorable George Malima, Member of Parliament for Mpwapwa Constituency and a prominent member of the ECD Cucus in Parliament. The launch event saw the attendance of regular and strategic members, including representatives from Children in Crossfire, Ubongo Kids, Catholic Relief Services, COUNSENUTH, Montessori Community, Right to Play, Oxford Policy Management, Uwezo Tanzania, D-Tree International, and two religious leaders.
